The purpose of the USATF San Diego-Imperial Association is to develop interest and participation in Athletics at all levels within our jurisdiction. Accordingly, we promote Athletics and athletes by conducting competitions and other events and by cooperating with and encouraging other organizations which may do so. In addition, we promote general public awareness, appreciation, and support for Athletics and USATF, by creating opportunities for athletes and Athletics events, and generating sponsorships to aid in these duties.
We provide sanctioning and liability insurance for events, provide coaching education, officials and record keeping and interpretation of USATF rules and regulations. Membership is open to people of all ages - athletes, coaches, officials, parents, administrators, event directors and fans.
The Board of Directors consists of four executive members (president, vice president, treasurer, and secratery) who are elected to two year terms. In addition, the Board consists of committee chairmen who lead their particular area. Chairmen are appointed by the president unless the committee calls for an election from their group. Any member of the USATF San Diego Association is welcome to join an acting committee. The full list of committees can be found in our bylaws, and a short list can be found below.
