SD-I to Host USA XC Championships January, 2020

USATF San Diego-Imperial Association will again host the USA Cross Country Championships for Seniors (open), Juniors (under 20), and Masters (40+) at Mission Bay Park on January 18. 2020.  The top men and women in the Senior and Junior Championships will qualify to represent the U.S. in the 2020 Pan American Cross Country Cup in Victoria, BC, Canada, on February 29, 2020.

The races will be run over a spectator-friendly, European-style 2,000-meter grass loop running along East Mission Bay Park, just south of the San Diego Mission Bay Resort.  The terrain of the first 1,000 meters of the loop is primarily flat and very fast; however the second 1,000 meters includes a series of five small hills.  The course is the same one used for the 2008 & 2011 U.S. Cross Country National Championships.
The San Diego Mission Bay Resort will serve as the Headquarters Hotel.  Just steps away from the course along the Mission Bay waterfront, the resort provides a convenient destination for athletes traveling from out of town.
